There are different skin types and often skin care tips are given based on skin type. However, the basic skin care regime remains the same only you need to choose the products according to your skin type as dry, oily, normal or mixed.
A summer skincare routine that works during the hot and dry months will do little to keep your skin safe from monsoon’s humidity. Whereas pimple prone skin needs extra care during monsoons.
Here we have some of the skin care routines advisable for all skin type for monsoon;
1. Scrub away
The humidity during monsoons can create chaos on your skin. Oil, sweat, dirt, leftover makeup, and other impurities clog your pores and give rise to acne, breakouts, and a host of other skincare problems. After a proper cleansing use a mild face scrub to unclog your pores. Scrubbing is not recommended daily, twice a week is fine. Exfoliating is a good way to get healthy glowing skin.
2. Vitamin C boost
To give your complexion a boost of radiance and make it glow from within even during the dreariest rainy days, add a vitamin C supplementation to your skin care and health care routine. For topical benefits you can use a vitamin C serum. Topical application is not enough, the issue should be resolved from the roots. Antioxidant vitamin C is highly beneficial for skin , skin glow and overall health which can’t be ignored.
3. Still you need SPF
If you thought you only needed SPF in the summer, you were mistaken! Whether it's raining or shining, you should include sunscreen in your daily regimen to protect your skin from the sun. Even when it's cloudy outside, UVA and UVB rays damage your skin, so conclude your monsoon skincare routine with a coating of sunscreen. Use a moisturising cream with SPF instead if you don't want to add another layer of skincare product.
4. Minimize makeup products
While we don't want you to quit wearing makeup altogether, we do suggest switching from a heavy cosmetic to a lighter one to let your skin breathe. Additionally, remember to wash off all makeup, no matter how light and basic, with a soft micellar water to maintain clear pores and prevent breakouts. Going to bed wearing makeup is a surefire way to get acne and have dull skin.
5. Add Glutathione supplements to your routine
Glutathione is the master antioxidant your body needs the most. It helps in body cleansing and in the process of recycling other antioxidants like vitamin E and vitamin C. Glutathione helps in several skin conditions like hyper-pigmentation, ageing, and hydration. It brings radiance to the skin and keeps your skin healthy. Tuskca Glutathione is one the best selling glutathione supplements in India. The effervescent tablet will make you drink your nutrition.
6. Help your skin while you sleep
The idea that people with oily skin don't need moisturisers is a misconception one. No matter what kind of skin you have, moisturisers give your skin the moisture and nourishing lipids it needs to stay healthy and youthful for a longer period of time. There are mild creams and essential oils to use as your PM skin routine.
6. Diet
Seasonal fruits and vegetables are essential for your body. Make sure you are drinking clean water as water contamination is one of the problems in the rainy season. Though hot foods like pakodas and fries tempt you this season, you are not having it from a wrong place.
Note that hydration and nourishment from the inside to make your skin healthy and radiant from the outside. Use the right skincare products for your skin type, drink enough water, and load up on antioxidant rich food to enjoy the monsoon without damaging your skin.
